Cai Yuanpei (1868-1940), famous democratic revolutionist,
educator. He has proposed the education policy of "civilian
education, pragmatism education, civilian moral education,
world view education and aesthetic education". He
also He proposed the abrogation of monarchy, Confucius
respect and classics reading; the reform of schooling
length, and course design; the execution of female and
male students studying in the same primary school; the
promotion of social education; the advocation of academic
freedom and compatible feature; and the execution of school
management by professors and student self management.
He also encouraged students to establish various institutes,
leagues and publications. He also brought about the precedent
of female and male students studying in the same university. |
